Aeroflow Healthcare offers home sleep testing services to patients who do not want to obtain a sleep study referral through their doctor’s office. Although our sleep clinicians will determine which type of sleep test is right for each patient, each device we offer measures blood oxygen levels and pulse rate using a finger probe mechanism. The device will also measure the patient’s AHI, or Apnea Hypopnea Index, which is the number of times in one hour that an individual experiences a pause in breathing for ten seconds or greater. AHI is the primary unit of measure used to determine the severity of sleep apnea.
Aeroflow Healthcare provides patients with a 24-hour customer service number to answer any questions they may have while undergoing a home sleep study, as well as videos about putting on a home sleep testing device. Typically, only 4-6 hours of data is all that is needed to complete the study. Once the sleep study device has been shipped back to Aeroflow Healthcare, our sleep specialists will review the data and call the patient to discuss the results and treatment options.
